The Standing Committee on Social Programs (SCSP)

The Standing Committee on Social Programs considers the following matters with respect to the Departments of Health and Social Services; Justice; Education, Culture and Employment; and the Northwest Territories Housing Corporation:
  1. Review multi-year business plans and budgets, Bills, boards and agencies, including the Status of Women Council and programs for Seniors, Youth and Persons with Disabilities;
  2. Review departmental performance, including that of boards and agencies; and
  3. Consider any other matter referred by the House.

Standing Committee on Social Programs

The shared mandate of both the Standing Committee on Governance and Economic Development and the Standing Committee on Social Programs is to:

  1. review legislative and policy proposals, multi-year plans and budgets, Bills, boards and agencies;
  2. review departmental performance; and
  3. consider any other matter referred by the House. Each committee concentrates its efforts on a different group of government departments.

The Standing Committee on Social Programs considers the above matters for the following departments: Health and Social Services; Education, Culture and Employment; Justice; Northwest Territories Housing Corporation.
