Location:  Enterprise is located at the junction of the Mackenzie Highway and the highway to Yellowknife, 43 km south of Hay River. The Hay River Canyon is immediately east of the community.

Access:  Located at the turnoff to Hay River, Enterprise is an important community for travelers on the Mackenzie Highway. Bus connections to the south and north are made in Enterprise.

History:  Two service stations were initially built in Enterprise to take advantage of the highway trade and in 1963 a subdivision was surveyed in anticipation of the area becoming a cargo transfer point and overnight stop however Hay River remains the origin of most of the freight for the North.

Today the economy is based almost entirely on the traffic on the Mackenzie Highway stopping for food, fuel and other services.
