Location:  Wekweti is located at 64'116'N latitude and 114'116'W longitude, 195 air km north of Yellowknife.

Population:  136 (2004 Census)

Access:  The community is accessible by air from Yellowknife year round (twice weekly) however during freeze-up and break-up the community is virtually inaccessible.

History:  The name of this community changed in 1999. The community was not a permanent community until 1962 and prior to that, it was an outpost hunting camp. Today hunting, fishing and trapping are the major economic activities in the area.
